Peruvian Tequeños - Easy Home Recipe

Peruvian tequeños are snacks that are usually enjoyed at various family gatherings or with friends. Although of Venezuelan origin, in Peru they are a classic and are prepared with the very crunchy wonton dough and are filled with cheese.

We hope you enjoy this easy to make at home and a very tasty recipe and share it with your friends.


  • 200 gr fresh or Edam cheese

  • 250 gr wonton dough

  • 1 egg

  • Oil


  1. Cut the cheese into thin strips and place it in the center of a wonton batter.

  2. With a beaten egg, paint the wonton batter around the cheese and wrap.

  3. Heat a frying pan with plenty of oil.

  4. When the oil is very hot, add the tequeños and brown them on both sides for 1 or 2 minutes.

  5. Serve and enjoy.

They are perfectly accompanied with a good spicy sauce like or with Guacamole.
