Learn how to prepare a Mexican favorite, the Taquera Salsa, a delicious homemade cascabel chili sauce that your whole family and friends will love so much that they will not be able to stop adding it to every dish.
This Homemade Cascabel Taquera Salsa is super easy to prepare and takes only 4 ingredients: Cascabel Chili, Tomatillos, Tomatoes, and Garlic.
(Serves 3 cups)
3 garlic cloves
1 teaspoon cumin
1 tablespoon sea salt
2 cups water
Clean the cascabel peppers and remove the stem. Do the same with the tomato and tomatillos removing the casing, and stem and cleaning them with running water.
In a pan roast the tomatillos, the garlic, and the tomatoes until getting a nice charring.
Place the ingredients in a saucepan and add the water, Cook for 20 minutes or until the dried peppers are soft.
When cooked, add them all to the blender including the water used for cooking. But controlling the amount of water.
Season with salt, pepper, and cumin. And blend the ingredients, the sauce must be chunky, not liquified.
Serve and enjoy.
Use this sauce for tacos, quesadillas, eggs, soups, rice, casseroles, grilled meats, stews, and pretty much everything.
