Horchata Mexican Drink

Horchata is a very refreshing drink that has been prepared in a traditional way for decades in various American countries, such as Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, or El Salvador. It is also part of the traditional fresh waters in Mexico, widely used to accompany food or lunch.


Crepes with Dulce de Leche

In this recipe we are going to show you how to prepare a horchata drink, do not lose detail of the step by step and you will have it ready in no time.


Here is the recipe:


INGREDIENTS

(Serves 2 Liters)


  • 1 cup of white rice, raw and washed

  • 1 can of condensed milk, (397 gr)

  • 1 can of evaporated milk, (378 gr)

  • 2 liters of water

  • Cinnamon sticks

  • Sugar to taste

  • Ice

  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

INSTRUCTIONS


  1. Put half a liter of water to heat in a pot. When it starts to boil, remove it from the heat and add the rice. Let the rice soak for at least one hour.

  2. Put the rice together with the water in which it was soaked in the blender and blend until everything is very well ground. Transfer the mixture to a large pitcher.

  3. Add the condensed milk, the evaporated milk, the remaining liter and a half of water, the sugar, the vanilla extract and the cinnamon. Stir until well incorporated.

  4. Serve with ice and cinnamon powder.
