Arepa "La Reina Pepiada" - Easy Recipe

Arepas are an original dish from Venezuela and Colombia, and they consist of a kind of crushed buns made with cornflour and filled with ... many things!

A very typical filling of arepas is shredded meat, which is usually prepared with meat boiled with vegetables and then stewed with a sauce of onion and tomato. Serve any stewed meat in sauce, very tender, shredded -this is important-, and mixed with a little of the whipped sauce.

Venezuelan arepas

To fill the arepas, we cut one end and open them, without completely separating the two parts, and fill.

The arepas can be smaller or larger, although it is not recommended to make them too wide as they will be more difficult to fill without breaking them. If you do not want to fill them, it is better to make them smaller. There are countless recipes for arepas, but from here, we encourage you to make them at home and get your own recipe.
