Ingredients
(Serves 4 people)
4 chicken breasts
1 large chive
100ml Morita Teriyaki Sauce
4 tablespoons mild olive oil
Instructions
We clean the chicken breasts of possible traces of fat and veins that it may have. We cut them into not too small dice.
Cut the chive into julienne thick strips.
In a large frying pan, we heat the oil and add the chicken pieces and the onion. Brown for about 5 or 6 minutes.
Add the teriyaki sauce and cook over medium heat for 15 minutes.
We will see that the chicken is shiny, like lacquered with the sauce, and this has almost been consumed.
We recommend accompanying it with white rice.
If you're feeling daring you can also try to make the teriyaki sauce yourself.
Here is what you'll need:
200 ml Kikkoman soy sauce
100 ml Mizkan Mirin
100 ml. sake
100 g. white sugar
*The ingredients do not have to be in the same proportion, but it depends on the recipe.
Teriyaki sauce is made by mixing and heating the four ingredients: sugar, mirin, soy sauce, and sake (can be substituted for another type of alcohol). Pour the ingredients into a saucepan. Heat over high heat and stir until the sugar dissolves.
Let it cook for 3 minutes, stirring from time to time. Strain the sauce and reserve.
You can also try famous chef Roy Choi's recipe, adding lemon soda as a substitute for sugar.
