Carne Asada Quesadilla Easy Recipe

Carne asada is charcoal-grilled beef, it can be corn tortilla or wheat flour, it is generally consumed in the north of Mexico, originating in Chihuahua. And as you probably are aware the most common way to eat it is as a Taco.


Some say, that Carne Asada Tacos were the first tacos in History, dating back to the 1500s when the meat was placed in a corn tortilla and topped with guacamole, onions, chili peppers, and lime.


Over time, people started to make other versions in different regions, adding and trying different ingredients, and nowadays we are witnessing a true taco-mania.


Carne Asada Quesadilla. Original Recipe

This easy recipe of Carne Asada Quesadilla is inspired by the original recipe of the Asada Taco, adding authentic Chihuahua cheese. Follow the step by step to prepare this delicious quesadilla. It will become your favorite!


Ingredients

(Serves 4)

Instructions

  1. Season steak strips with salt and pepper and cook them on a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked.

  2. Place a dry griddle or cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Place a tortilla on the skillet and sprinkle with cheese. Add 2-4 strips of carne asada (charbroiled steak), roasted chilies, and tomato (if desired). Top with more Manchego cheese. Place another tortilla on top. Cook until lightly golden, about 1-2 minutes.

  3. Flip over and cook until golden brown.

  4. Garnish with chopped onion and coriander.

  5. Add Guacamole and your favorite Salsa.
